Customer Rating: Summary: Nights in Rodanthe Comment: I loved the story. When a book can make you cry it is good.
Customer Rating: Summary: What a rip off. Comment: I picked up this book because I saw the movie advertised and I thought well, it might be worthy of a read if it was worthy of a Richard Gere movie. I finished it but I had to skip ahead several times because, after all, we knew how it was going to end so how did it get there? It is a rip off of The Bridges of Madison County and was very similar to Message in a bottle only shorter and with less story.
Customer Rating: Summary: Typical Spark Comment: This book follows the usual Sparks formula. Man meets woman. Man has sex with woman. And, man usually dies. If you've read one of his books, you've read 'em all.
Customer Rating: Summary: So would you? Comment: If you knew that you could meet the love of your life but only get to spend 5 days with him/her, and then live 15 years of your life without the person but with the knowledge of what it felt like and what it taught you, would you?
that was the question on my mind after reading this book and still in my mind now, and the heartbreak of reading the story happens when you allow yourself to ponder the scenario of someone who decides that it is worth it for them. In this fictional scenario, for the protagonist, Adrienne, it was worth it and she said it herself she would do it all over again, and then you think about that just for a minute and try not to cry.
The story is simple, the setting is simple, the read is easy. The feelings of both wonder and vulnerability I was left with after I finished it the second time, are still with me, and that question as well...
Customer Rating: Summary: Poignant Comment: I really enjoyed this book. Though not long, it has a well-developed storyline and flows very smoothly. I wish it had a more happy ending, but it feels real and has a powerful effect on the reader. This, like most Nicholas Sparks books, is definitely worth your time.
