Customer Rating: Summary: Great Jump Start Down Investment Road! Comment: I went from knowing very little about the stock market to having a great jump start at answering a lot of questions. He dives into the strategies of some of the best investors. Describes the basics, growth vs. value, lots of stock investment resources. I would suggest this book to any stock investment beginner. There wasn't one page that I had read that left me wondering what I had just read.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Book! Gets to the points quickly. Comment: Jason does a great job of giving the 30,000 foot view of the stock market. He covers what has worked, what hasn't and what legendary investors use. He explains some of the common strategies (eg Dow Dividend Strategy). He also summaries similarities between those legendary investors.
This is a very easy book to read, with lots of information and worth every penny. I highly recommend it. A great intro to investing book!
Customer Rating: Summary: The Neatest Little Guide to Stock Market Investing Comment: For a person with no background in the stock market this book provides good novice explainations. However, the latter chapters are riddled with the authors self promotion, and recommendation of several ETFs rather than individual stocks. The MidCap ETFs spoken so highly of in the book with great returns (charts included) did not perform anywhere near as good as stated. In fact the the two ETFs the book champions would have earned a mere 4% over the last 5 years. You can get better performance from a bank savings account.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good starter guide Comment: this was a good book to get your feet wet in the world of investing.
Customer Rating: Summary: excellent book for beginning stock investor Comment: This is the second investing book that I've actually read. I've purchased many. I actually read The Millionaire Next Door and this one.
This book was simple, easy to follow and easy to understand. I read it in two days while traveling, and I'm going to return to it over and over again as I venture on into the world of investing.
I also ordered Jason's Mutual Fund guide as I am always overwhelmed with decisions when picking investments for my 401k.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who doesn't know much about stock investing, wants to seek larger returns and is overwhelmed by all the information out there.
Jason cuts to the chase, speaks to both kinds of investors (value/growth), introduces you to the masters, then synthesizes in a way that actually make sense.
I'm impressed, Thanks!
