Summary: Even better than The Summerhouse
Comment: I read Summerhouse and I really didn't believe that Ms. Deveraux could top it, but Return to Summerhouse is even better. This book made me laugh and cry and I couldn't wait to see what Amy would do next and how Faith and Zoe would respond to her. To add to the joy of reading this book, were the three-dimensional male characters.
While reading, I grew more emotionally involved in the plot and Amy's quest to save Tristan, who lived in another century. When Amy, Faith, and Zoe were transported back in time by Madame Zoya to save Tristan, I was too.

Summary: Lots of Heart
Comment: My first Devereaux read. I liked this story because it had a lot of heart. There was compassion, redemption, forgiveness, loyalty, love and smarts, not to mention some humor. I liked that although the characters were quite disparate in their personalities, the story found a way to bring them together not only as friends, but created opportunities for healing and growth for each of them.

Summary: Good read, but lacking
Comment: I have not read a great deal of her works, but picked this up on a whim. I enjoyed the book, to a point. I think I would have enjoyed it much more had she taken it a step farther and fleshed out what happened with Faith and Zoe, not just a brief summary at the end. I felt almost cheated the way that part was glossed over. But, all in all, it held my attention and was an easy read. Nothing that you had to think too much about, could put down if something came up, but still entertaining enough to keep you interested. Definately what I would call a "summer read".
