Summary: Disposable, lasts about a year. Cleans good.
Comment: I have had two of these units. Both have stopped working. The first one I took apart, and saline had destroyed the electronics. The second stopped working a month ago, probably for the same reason. While they work, they clean my lenses and I can wear them comfortably for 12+ hours.

Comment: When I removed the lid, it didn't seem to do anything. It made the hissing sound, but the solution was very still. It didn't make any wave like other ultrasonic machines I've seen. I eventually bought LenSoClean, and LenSoclean seems to work a lot better.

Comment: This is the best little gadget I have purchased in a long time. Cleans my RGP lenses thoroughly and quickly. Saves me $$ in cleaning solutions and will pay for itself in no time. I use saline in the machine and rinse the lenses with conditioning solution before inserting into my eyes. Also saves me time as I am not standing there cleaning my lenses all the time. I put them in the machine before I go to bed and leave them there til morning. The instruction booklet is obviously written by someone not proficient in English, but worth the entertainment value alone.

Summary: Great cleaning unit
Comment: This is a unique cleaning tool. I was getting very tired of dirty lenses bugging me toward the end of the work day. The contacts just kept getting worse and worse toward the end of my one-month duration. Always looked forward to inserting bran-new lenses the next month. I figure I can now get more life out of the lenses by cleaning them regularily with this unit. I don't have to rub them anymore about once or twice a week besides nightly soaking. This little unit does a fine job and removes almost all irritation related to gunk build up. Plus the fact that you don't have to physicaly handle the lenses in your fingers to clean them (hand oil, lint, general grit) is a plus. I read somewhere that a lot of gunk collects along the very edges of the lens, but this cleaner cleans everything, not just front and back. Overall, I'm happy with its performance and will enjoy sharp vision with far less irritation and less expense to boot.

Summary: Fixed my red eye
Comment: This product is working great for me. I wear RGPs and my eyes are very sensitive to all types of chemicals and debris. I switched around different RGP materials and types of solutions and nothing really got my contacts clean AND didn't irritate my eyes.
Now I am using this lens cleaner, and then putting them in ClearCare (a hydrogen peroxide solution) afterwards. My lenses are comfortable all day, and the red-eye is gone.
I'm not sure why you have to take your lenses out of this thing and put them somewhere else; it would be easier just to leave them in this. Maybe it's hard to keep this clean if you leave them in overnight. However, I am very happy with this product.
