Summary: Not Accurate (Too High)
Comment: Got this last week. Tested it out on my family and also for myself only compared with the oral thermometer we have been using. I don't mind the variability, which seems to be roughly plus/minus 0.5 degree F. What I don't like is that it seems to average about 1.5 degrees F too high. Specifically, the oral has me at 98.7 but the first 5 repeats with Safety 1st ranged from 99.9 to 101. My wife's readings also came in over 100. Maybe we just got a bad one.

Summary: Safety First (Accuracy Second)
Comment: This thing is quick (~1 second) but wildly inaccurate. The instructions note how you're supposed to place it *just* right in the ear canal, by holding/pulling your ear back just so and inserting this into the ear canal so there is a good seal.
Even if this is done I've gotten wildly different temperatures, even on my own ear multiple times using the same method of placement. I took my wife's temperature (when we got this, to test it out) and according to this she had a fever of 101.3, 102.3, and 102-something in 3 different readings. We went to a corner drug store and got a digital thermometer (placed in the mount, takes about 1 minute to work) and it read 97.6.
We got this to use for a newborn but with the wildly different readings and no confidence that any of them are nearly close to being accurate, what's the point?
I'll give it props for being 1. safe and 2. really quick! But it's about as useful as a random number generator. Wish it weren't, it would be a lot easier to use than something that takes 30-60 seconds to get a reading.

Comment: I love it! This pacifier thermometer is ideal for young infants, providing comfort to the child while letting you check baby's temperature. Quick and easy to understand, I suggest you to buy also probe covers to keep it clean. One of the best tools, if you have kids around!

Summary: Misleading Info on Ear Thermometer
Comment: The seller's description said this NEW ear thermometer required no disposable caps. When we received the package, it was not sealed, the battery was dead and it required disposable caps. It is fortunate that a sample set of disposable caps were included. I made this purchase based on the seller's description and was frustrated that the product did not meet her description. The product itself works wonderfully but I will not buy from this seller again.
