Customer Rating: Summary: blackhawk up Comment: This is a very good war movie. There isnt much to compare it to. The Somilia thing didnt produce many movies. The movie stayed 80% true to the movie. Read the book and you have basically seen the movie. Lots of action. This movie gives you a little insight to what our special forces can do.
Customer Rating: Summary: Ultrarealistic Comment: Looking for a war movie? this is it the most realistic and maybe the most accurate war movie ever made.I've watchted this film 10 times plus.So many times I've lost count and every time it just gets better and better. Finally on BLU-RAY the only way to see this film. It's as if the action was happening in your living room.(make sure you have a surround sound system crank it up!!!)
Purchase and Enjoy
Customer Rating: Summary: Incredible Graphics Incredible Movie Comment: Guess this is a movie for die hard fans!
Great quality and sound!
Plays well in my ps3
Customer Rating: Summary: 5 Stars for the movie - 3 for the Blu-ray Comment: I loved this movie. It is far from the best Blu-ray conversion however as it is barely better than regular DVD. To be expected I supposed as it was one of the earlier titles.
Customer Rating: Summary: A Story of Modern Warfare Comment: Black Hawk Down is indeed a story of modern warfare. Even though it occurred 15 years ago, there is really no other comparable, true-life story of the modern U.S. military in action against an enemy that is well-matched, with sheer numbers facing technological superiority. It is for this reason that I bought the 3-disc edition, to get the extra documentaries and commentaries. The former I've watched, with the History channel's 2-hour documentary, with Mark Bowden's comments more interesting than the 1-hour Frontline piece. I look forward to watching the movie again and again with the various commentaries. After watching this movie, with it's often painful realism, other military movies seem almost unwatchable they are so cliched and Hollywood. This is a fascinating collection of discs to watch.

Ridley Scott's Black Hawk Down conveys the raw, chaotic urgency of ground-force battle in a worst-case scenario. With exacting detail, the film re-creates the American siege of the Somalian city of Mogadishu in October 1993, when a 45-minute mission turned into a 16-hour ordeal of bloody urban warfare. Helicopter-borne U.S. Rangers were assigned to capture key lieutenants of Somali warlord Muhammad Farrah Aidid, but when two Black Hawk choppers were felled by rocket-propelled grenades, the U.S. soldiers were forced to fend for themselves in the battle-torn streets of Mogadishu, attacked from all sides by armed Aidid supporters. Based on author Mark Bowden's bestselling account of the battle, Scott's riveting, action-packed film follows a sharp ensemble cast in some of the most authentic battle sequences ever filmed. The loss of 18 soldiers turned American opinion against further involvement in Somalia, but Black Hawk Down makes it clear that the men involved were undeniably heroic. --Jeff Shannon
