Comment: I bought one of these for my future mother-in-law for her birthday. She has a lot of knee problems and the best thing for her is to relax in her chair. She loves borrowing my future husband's laptop and using it on her chair or doing crafts. I thought this would be perfect so she didn't have to balance the computer on a pillow. I was playing on the laptop using her lap desk and it was comfortable and so much easier. Since I'm getting married and I'm doing a lot of DIY projects, I try to do some on my coffee table so I can have a movie in the background..... this would definitely come in handy. I will be getting one for myself!

Comment: This is the best laptop I have seen! Large top with clip to hold papers and indentations for pens or pencils. The cushion is black and has two buttons tacked on to keep the poly beads from settling in one spot. Well constructed and attractive. Love it!

Summary: Peaks in the middle - not a great Laptop Desk
Comment: It's made of plastic and the item comes with a bit of a bulge in the middle so, using a Laptop you'll see issues. Basically, the laptop "rocks" on the "bubble" in the middle and never a fully flat surface.
I'd recommend wood.
