Summary: Good Price for Generic Claritin (Loratadine)
Comment: Loratadine is an effective non drowsy, long acting (once daily) antihistamine for both seasonal and year round allergies. We have used this Kirkland produced generic Loratadine which is as good as the more expensive Claritin. It is offered at a very good price of $2 per month (As of 8-19-08: $22.28 with shipping for a ten month supply of 300). Loratadine takes a few days use to reach maximimum effectiveness and it is important to take it every day to maintain full effectiveness.
If you are having an acute allergic reaction or flare up Benadryl (diphenylhydramine) is a better choice for such uses as it is faster (though shorter) acting. Other quick acting but non drowsy antihistamines would also work in these cases.
For regular use this generic Loratadine is great stuff at a very good price.

Comment: So far looks like this is a very economical substitute for Clarinex. Had to change when Prescription porgram would no longer cover Clarinex.

Comment: purchased this item because my insurance company stopped carrying any antihistamines. So far I have been happy with results and its cheaper then my old product.
