Customer Rating: Summary: Potent trimmer Comment: This is a very strong trimmer. By that I mean it is powerful for it's size. I also bought the edger attachment. It takes a little practice to get the hang of this trimmer but it gets the job done. I plan to buy the tiller attachment in the future. Strongly recommend this tool.
Customer Rating: Summary: String Trimmer Review Comment: I was delighted to find this trimmer on any website much less Amazon.com. I am pleased with my purchase, the quick shipment and response. I will be mindful in the future that Amazon may have all sorts of articles not just books, of which I have purchased many.
Customer Rating: Summary: Ryobi Trimmer Comment: I needed a 2nd trimmer for my other home. My first Ryobi trimmer I bought at home depot for about $145. Works great. When shopping for a 2nd one, I found Amazon had a rebuilt for half the price. It arrived and looks and works great. This is the way to go.
Customer Rating: Summary: Problematic at Best Comment: I purchased this trimmer at Home Depot, brand new just over a year ago. My Ryobi compound miter saw works great so I thought I'd try one of their trimmers. For 2 seasons now, it's been one problem after another. Flooding easily, stalling unless maintaining mid-to-high RPMs, leaks fuel, leaks oil from the carb. It seems I'm constantly working to maintain this piece of garbage. I've already had it serviced once for these problems and it looks like I will have to do it again. I've never experienced any such problems with all of the other outdoor power equipment I've owned and used. I almost can't wait for the day when this thing is out of warranty and it fails to the point where I gleefully smash it against my driveway in a fit of rage. I can't tell you how many curse words have eminated from my lips because of this thing. I certainly won't buy another Ryobi landscaping product.
Customer Rating: Summary: Better off with new Comment: The refurbishment seems to consist of a hot stamped 'REFURB' and some quality checked stickers. The idle was set so high the clutch engaged. The unit would not run full throttle. After two mowings at half throttle it's off for repair for weeks. I had high hopes, as my last Ryobi ran 15 years trouble free. Look elsewhere.
